Bag Manufucaturing

Paper and Plastic bags (sacks, pouches) are produced by cutting, folding, and forming rolled paper/plastic into its finished form. Basically, paper & plastic bags are used to fill and contain items ranging from gifts to snacks – for example, paper sandwich bags, shopping bags, popcorn bags and re-closeable pouches. Finished bags can be made from either coated or uncoated paper/plastic. The manufacturing process involves cutting, forming, and sealing (with adhesive) the paper material to form the final product. Generally, this process does not involve heat.

SUB-SECTOR: PAPER BAG MANUFACTURING

Application – Protection from Friction and Wear

The equipment used to produce paper bags includes a series of metal plates, bars, and forming tubes. Because paper is very abrasive and can wear down metal forming tubes and plates where contact is made, critical surfaces tend to be protected. Our UHMW film tape is used by manufacturers as a protective layer over the forming tubes and plates. The tape reduces friction and withstands the abrasiveness of the paper as it passes over, thus extending the life of the machine components.

SUB-SECTOR: POLY BAG INDUSTRY

Application – Protection from Friction and Wear

Polybags, or plastic bags, are also known as pouches, and flexible packaging. The industry term polybags is derived from their composition of polyethylene which is converted into film bags. Extruded poly films are heat sealed and cut to form the end product.
